Various working or conformation titles might appear in your dog's pedigree
and depending on the issuer of the pedigree, titles are usually written in the
color red. Conformation show championship titles, such as Ch. (Champion) or
Can. Ch. (Canadian Champion), appear before the dog's name. Working dog
competition titles, such as TD (Tracking Dog) appear after the dog's name which
attests to the dog's intelligence to understand a task, train ability for said
task, then finally ability to perform said task at a show in front of a judge.
Since there is limited space on the pedigree for the titles the dogs can earn,
abbreviations are normally utilized. Following is a list of some of the most
common abbreviations along with their meanings that are utilized by the American
Kennel Club. Remember, depending on the registry of the dog and party from whom
